Nature Play - Loose parts

Nature Play - Loose parts
At Little Bowerbird Studio we love incorporating natural items into the children's play and art. The best part about natural items is that children will always find a way to play with them and they can be as creative and imaginative as they like. The items can be re-used numerous times in all of their art and play

Box play

Box play
It may just look like a box to an adult, but to a child there is an endless amount of possibilities. It could be a hat, a cubby, a spaceship, a cave, a robot, a car, a submarine.... it is open to their imaginations.

Creativity in different forms

Creativity in different forms

We like to create a space for children to experiment and create. They usually surprise us and come up with ideas that we would have never thought of!

Little Artists - Observation

Little Artists - Observation
We have been teaching Pre-Primary for many years and we have learnt a lot from our students. The biggest thing that we have learnt is that children will generally draw something based on what they think it should look like rather than what it really looks like.

Dry Art

Dry Art
Not all art making needs to be messy. Building with blocks, arranging natural materials or creating sculptures with magnets are just a few examples...

Sensory play with natural items and manmade

Sensory play with natural items and manmade

There are soooo many toys available to children these days and they play a great role in their development, but it is also vital to expose them to real life items. At Little Bowerbird Studio we see the benefit of both.

When Science meets Art - Art Class

When Science meets Art - Art Class

Clare and I both love combining Science and Art. The children are engaged, learning and it's so much fun. We decided to make milk prints!

We posed the question "What would happen if we were to mix milk, food colour and detergent?"
